Dear Parents and Guardians,
Today is the first week of November and the weather is getting colder. I wish everyone safe and warm during this cold season. For this weeks activity we have made playdough with the children in the class. the children had fun mixing the different flour, oil, slat, and food colouring together to make the playdough. Afterwards the children used cooking cutters and other playdough tools to made different figures.
homemade playdough ingredients:
- 1 cups of flour
- 1 Tablespoon of salt
- 1/2 Tablespoon of Oil
- 1/4 cup of warm water
- Food Coloring (optional)
instructions
- Using a bowl add the flour, salt, and oil. I used canola oil but any oil works.
- Add in the food coloring and the warm water.
- Mix with a spoon until you can no longer blend it.
- Once the water cools down a bit, you can start kneading the dough with your hands.
- When you have a good consistency, add some flour onto your cutting board and knead some more.
- If the dough sticks to your fingers it needs more flour. Add a little bit at a time to not dry the dough. If you dry it by mistake, just add a little bit of water.
Making Parfait – Cooking club
The children enjoy food very much in the toddler room. Therefore, cooking club is an exciting thing for them to do. This gives the children opportunity. Learn through their 5 senses it also better educates them by learning new words and culture through food. For todays cooking activity the children have made strawberry fruit parfait.
