Dear toddler room Parents and Guardians

The weather this week has been every nice. In the toddler’s room the children and educators have decided to harvest some of the vegetables from our PPCC Garden. With the help of the children, we have taken some of the Kale we have grown ourselves and made Kale Chips.

The children enjoyed making and eating the Kale Chip. This is a great easy and health option to do at home with the family.

 Preparation Steps:

• 1 bunch curly kale (about 5 cups)

• 1 Tablespoon olive oil

• 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Wash and dry kale, de-stem and roughly chop into bite-size pieces.

3. Make sure kale is super dry, add to a large bowl and toss with olive oil and sea salt.

4. Spread kale out on a large baking sheet, making sure not to overlap pieces.

5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until kale is crisp.

Art Activity

This week the weather has been very sunny with bit of breeze it’s a great opportunity to make some windsocks for arts and crafts. In the toddler room children have painted some jellyfish windsock and had fun hanging it outside, watching it blow in the wind.

Materials we used
